Dining in Palau
Although Palau may be considered small in terms of size, population and visitors, the number of good restaurants and variety of cuisine available are sure to please everyone. The following are some of our favorites.
The Taj Palau
By far, one of the finer dining experiences in Palau. The Taj Palau began serving authentic and flavorful Indian cuisine in 2003 and is considered a favorite among locals and visitors. The chefs skillful blending of spices gives its dishes the subtly magical flavors, aromas and textures indicative of the finest of Indian cuisine.
Elilai Restaurant & Bar
Elilai Restaurant & Bar specializes in contemporary Pacific Rim cuisine and prides itself on using fresh local ingredients. They also bake some of the tastiest bread on the island. But its spectacular view from its open air restaurant overlooking the Koror lagoon is by far one of the best views in Palau.
Kramers Bar & Restaurant
Kramers Bar & Restaurant is "the" place to hang out after a day in the water. Popular amongst dive guides, locals and ex-pats, Kramers has good food and is a great place to meet different people.
Rock Island Cafe
If simple, American-style cuisine from burgers and sandwiches to pizza, is what you are craving, Rock Island Cafe is the place for you. Prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly.
Yokohama Restaurant
This is a small local restaurant popular amongst the locals. They close early (3pm) and are closed on Sundays, but they have good food at reasonable prices. Try the chicken katsu, grilled fish or one of their noodle dishes...delicious!
